Jim Stieringer selected as board's delegate for the California Special Districts Association's annual meeting

Jim Stieringer, vice president of the Grossmont Healthcare District (GHD) board of directors, who has served on the GHD board since 1992, has been selected to serve as the board's delegate to the California Special Districts Association (CSDA).

Stieringer, a La Mesa resident, works as a consultant for a government defense contractor and also serves as the City of La Mesa's treasurer. As the board's delegate, Stieringer is scheduled to attend CSDA's annual meeting, Sept. 24-28 in North Lake Tahoe, Calif.

Sacramento-based CSDA, a not-for-profit, statewide advocacy organization founded in 1969, represents about 700 types of independent special districts, including irrigation, water, park and recreation, cemetery, fire, police protection, library, utility, harbor, \ healthcare and community services.

The Grossmont Healthcare District, a public agency in San Diego's East County region, supports various health-related community programs and services in San Diego's East County region and serves as landlord of Grossmont Hospital on behalf of local taxpayers. The District, formed in 1952, is governed by a five-member board of directors, each elected to four-year terms, who represent nearly 500,000 people residing within the District's 750 square miles in San Diego's East County.
